I have a bundle of DK weight socks fresh off the needles!

The Yarn
These are knit with Drops Fiesta DK and I whole-heartedly recommend it! I ordered a bundle from Wool Warehouse and quickly added a second bundle to my cart with even more colors.
What’s to Love:
- Price – This yarn is a serious bargain! At the date I’m writing this, it’s $3.00 for a 50g ball. You’ll need 2-3 for an adult pair, but that makes for a very affordable pair of socks. (Gift ideas…)
- Fiber Content – It’s a standard 75/25 wool/nylon blend. Perfect for durability and easy washing.
- The Feel – Now it’s not merino wool… but I didn’t find it to be too rough or “rustic” feeling at all. The feel is comparable to Regia and Opal.
- Colors – Oh SO many colors! There are solids, tonals, striped patterns, speckles, variegated … truly, the selection of colors is what prompted me to try this yarn in the first place. I found all to be 100% colorfast. (yes, even that hot pink “cerise” next to the white – no color transfer at all, yay!)
I have yarn for a few more pairs.
Other projects are soaking up my knitting time right now, so these colors have to wait.

The Pattern
After many tests and trials, I have perfected My Favorite DK Socks pattern. You can get yourself a copy Ravelry, LoveCrafts, or Etsy – wherever you prefer to shop 🙂
Finer Points
- Cuff Down – still my favorite for so many reasons…
- Gusseted Heel
- Wedge Toe – updated for DK
- Multiple sizes – although DK socks are quite flexible with sizing
Customize your socks

I love a basic knitting pattern that is easy to customize. My stitch counts always take into account the multiples that a lot of patterns use. This means, you can easily adapt a favorite texture pattern into DK socks! Here is a quick and easy rib pair I made using the basic recipe for My Favorite DK Socks.
